🦗 The Legend of Spicy Cricket

“They say he could outdance the wind, charm a queen, and moonwalk across a lily pad.”
Born to Dance, Destined for Trouble
On the lush island of Morita, the legend begins.
Spicy Cricket, heir to Sergio Saltamonte—”the best dancer in all of Costa Rica”—had rhythm in his blood and fire in his feet. Like his father, Spicy dazzled kings and queens across the islands.

But not everyone was enchanted.
King Pedro Polilla didn’t care how good Spicy was.
Sergio had been a known Lothario, and the king wasn’t about to let history repeat itself—not with Princess Mariposa.
And so, with a wave of his wing, King Pedro banished Spicy Cricket from Morita forever.
Exile, Amigo, and Destiny

Spicy found refuge in Mexico, and more importantly, he found Estevan Escarabajo—a street-smart dung beetle with nerves of steel and a soft spot for cold cervezas.

In a dusty cantina, word arrived:
Sergio Saltamonte was dead.
Spicy’s eyes narrowed.
“I have to go back,” he said. “My father’s name must be cleared.”
Estevan took a long sip of beer.
“You’ll need more than a good spin if they’re waiting for you.”
They hitched a ride on a fisherman’s leaky boat, braving the tide to return to Morita.

Secrets by Firelight
By a flickering jungle fire, Spicy finally spoke.
“Estevan, my friend, I must tell you everything before daylight.”
The forest fell silent. Even the wind seemed to lean in.
Estevan nodded, his shell glinting in the firelight. A howl rose from the trees—but he didn’t flinch.
He was, after all, a Mexican dung beetle.
And he knew…
the worst was yet to come.
